what to expect when you're not expecting

There is a pattern in the new knitty that will not be coming anywhere near my needles. The sweater would be lovely on the right person, but a bad experience with an unfortunate dress a couple of years back wised me up to the dangers that lurk beneath an empire waist. Somewhere there are photos of me with what looks like a third trimester bump beneath my dress and a glass of red wine in my hand. Not a pretty sight! Which leads me to last night's dream, that I was pregnant, complete with very disturbing belly button pop out action! (Don't worry mom and dad, there is no chance I am -- we would have to call the Pope and Mel Gibson if that was the case!)

According to hyperdictionary, dreaming about being pregnant symbolizes an aspect of yourself or some aspect of your personal life that is growing and developing. I'm excited about the new job that I'm starting very soon, so it probably has something to do with that, but I think it also has to do with the fact that I recently learned that one of my old friends is having a baby. Those crazy kids, babies having babies. I'm very excited for her and her husband. Now I need to find something to knit for their baby in progress!

Awe, I still have yet to knit baby knits. One of my friends needs to.... well no. hahaha. Excited bout the new job ;D!

Thanks! This is the first of my friends to get "knocked up" since I've learned to knit. I'm really looking forward to making them a present instead of buying yet another shower gift at Baby Gap.
