Sorry I've been such a whiney knitter/blogger as of late. I'll get out of this fit of melancholy and ennui -- I promise. There is a project idea I am working on, which should be quite cute if I can pull it off.

Even though I'm a supporter more by default, than by passion for the candidate in particular, Knitters for Kerry cheered me up this morning. Thanks for posting the link Brainylady. I wish I had a knitting machine!

It could be the humidity, but I feel too boring to knit blog right now. I'm not very thrilled about anything I'm working on and can't seem to find a project that I can get excited about. Does anybody have any ideas?

The new mystery scarf for mystery recipient is virtually finished - just need to bind off. I got loads done while I waited 45 minutes to see the eye doctor yesterday.

I need to start a new project. Frida and Newcastle United are still in progress, but aren't so inspiring. I also still have that ruffled sweater from Rebecca, but it's too humid to deal with mohair right now. I'm just not sure what I want to make.

that's sick

As we all know, Nascar is the new black, so I was really looking forward to seeing Nascar 3D at the Imax Theatre on Saturday with my brother, mom and dad. I got quite a bit of knitting done on Frida during the drive out to the theatre. I was glad I brought my knitting along because the drive was long, and tragically, we got a bit lost and missed the movie.

It was quite a dilemma to find ourselves in the hinterlands with nothing to do. Luckily we stumbled across a different theatre and watched, of all things, Dodgeball. My mother, a soft hearted sweetheart with delicate ears and somewhat Victorian sensibilities, was even amused. She only muttered her catchphrase, "That's sick!" once. I was quite proud of her.

Paris Loop made me awfully fond of Cicco, so I picked up a couple more balls of this crazy yarn when I saw it was on sale at Herrschners.com. I love the way this yarn looks knitted up. Since I'm in the running for world's slowest knitter, it is also fun to be able to actually start and finish a project rather quickly even though the big honkin' needles don't necessarily appeal to me. The intended recipient of this project is also awfully fond of the color red, so I'm sure she'll love it when I hand it over.

I haven't been posting lately because it's been a ridiculously stressful couple of weeks. Fingers crossed, one component of that stress should be wrapped up by end of day Friday.

Frida is coming along just fine. I'm not in love with it. Perhaps I'll like it better once I've completed it. I've also cast on for another scarf I'm giving as a gift.

It was a pleasant surprise to wake up and find that Sex and the Knitty was posted. 1930 is my favorite, but I'll have to save that until I am a lot more skilled. Hush hush is also quite lovely.
