Oiyi

Oh my! You are finished! Yippeee!!

Okay, so what is up with the weather. It has been hot and humid here for the last few days. And it was freezing cold last week!

I am lazy and never soak the scarves I knit. Are you suppose to do that? Does that help it look better?

Amy

We were hot and humid last week and now we're cold. It's awful!

I didn't soak it for but a moment, but just wanted to give the scarf a good wash because I had knit it on the bus, etc. Who knows what it came into contact with?!?

day off? ENVY...lots and lost of ENVY. And seriously how HOT is Ed Harris as John Glenn?

Amy

"And seriously how HOT is Ed Harris as John Glenn?"

QUITE!
Ed Harris is ridiculously appealing as John Glenn. Sigh.

I REALLY don't want to go back to work today. Luckily I'll be able to keep my head buried in SQL crap and ignore all humans.

I can't wait to see the finished scarf!

I've never seen The Right Stuff, I should add it to my Netflix queue right away I suppose.
I really enjoyed the other movie you recommended The Women, that was a hoot!

I've definitely seen Pride & Prejudice though and I know exactly what look you are talking about. Yummy.

Speaking of Jane Austen, I'm watching a miniseries of Mansfield Park right now, it's a BBC one I think. I've never read the book so I have no idea what's going to happen, although I've heard that this book is a bit darker than her others.

Amy

You should definitely rent The Right Stuff -- it's a great film, and as Ms. Avec Whip pointed out, there are sexy astronauts (though not so appealing as one Mr. Darcy).

I've never seen that Mansfield Park. I saw the dreadful movie, but hadn't read the book, so didn't feel as bitter about it as some. Are you familiar with Elizabeth Gaskell? I just watched Wives and Daughters. That was excellent!
