One of the unfortunate side effects of using this public space as a knitting journal is that I sometimes feel guilty about not posting that many finished projects. I need to remind myself that it isn't a contest (or at least not one that I choose to participate in) and that I'm supposed to be doing this for fun.
Even though I don't generally post that much about it, I do knit. There is a new project I'm working on using some of the lurvely Fable yarn I picked up from Yahaira's shop. It's just a basic scarf, that's still in the swatching stage, but I think I'm going to be quite pleased with it. I'll post a photo once I've cast on for the real thing.

Our figures show repealing the Estate Tax will cost 1 trillion dollars over the next ten years. Then think about the crazy numbers concerning the tax cuts that passed last month, which gave huge cuts to the super wealthy. Think about all the program cuts that will come from this lost revune - health care, schools, public safety, the list goes on. This is a vote we all need to pay attention to. Can you tell what I do for a living?
Oh, love the stupid song but a bit on the creepy side.

I'm sorry to hear that some of your knitting time is cut down by blgging time. But I love your links! I appreciate the time you take to search for them!

The anti-estate tax argument makes me so crazy, that I guess I didn't word this post very clearly. I sometimes feel a bit like a knit blog fraud because I don't blog enough FOs and the like. The links are fun, and I definitely plan on continuing with them. I'm just being a dork.

I too love your links. But should we find a another word for those too? "Links" may not be cool enough so maybe "thought making" or "reading opportunities" or "clicky words."
Have fun with your projects in progress!

i am looking forward to seeing your scarf though. sometimes the simple little projects can be big on inspiration.

It would be hilarious if you started to sing "HAHAHAHA HAHAHAHA"! That video cracked me up.
I feel guilty too that I haven't finished knitting a bunch of projects, but you are right that it's not a contest. I really admire the other knitting blogs who always has FO's to show.

our local advertising club recently held its award ceremonies in the local masonic temple. one of my friends remarked incredulously, "what, the seventh level of Hell was already booked?" true dat.

The stupid song is so catchy! It will be stuck in my head all day now I'm sure.
I too want a Tomy Voice-Corder. So cool!
I love the wedding album, especially the hair styles on some of the bridesmaids. How sad that they lost their photos.

I like to visit your blog because you post such fun links -- and the fact that you knit too is just a bonus! :-) It's *so* not a competition and I hope you continue to have fun!

Hee,hee....I was starting to go through a bit of Japan withdrawl, but that video helped...
Don't worry about not having a bunch of FO's--it's the quality that counts, right? Besides I bet most of us show up here because your blog is interesting and original, which is way more important that having oodles of FO pictures. (OMG, I can't believe I just used the word oodles..... I swear I'm not twelve....;-)

I love your posts and links, whether there is knitting or not! (Though I haven't had much time to follow the links lately, myself). It's good to remember that it's all just for fun. Hope you're having a nice summer!

Aww... Thanks for linking to my silly, little blog. I feel special now. Well, I always felt *special* but this is a better kind of special. (I'm such a dork.)

Don't worry about not posting enough FOs. The blog is about you, not your yarn. I write about whatever the mood strikes me in my blog, and every once and a while, I wonder back to knitting discussion. My blog; my way! We like you even more than fiber!
