Patchwork Festival draws quilters, other fabric artists to Cullowhee, N.C.

Nimble fingers turn scraps of cloth into works of art. The first Patchwork Fabric Festival in Cullowhee, N.C., on June 3 celebrates the skills of women carrying on the tradition of generations of mountain residents.

The festival features regional crafters showcasing handmade fabric crafts, quilting, spinning, weaving, knitting, tatting, crocheting, sewing (clothing, dolls) and fabric art. All crafters will be in period dress. [more]
